Curacao, August 12, 2022. Navigator Insurance Consultants is a Caribbean insurance broker specialized in complex insurance solutions and developing private lines insurance facilities. With over 25 years of experience in the Caribbean, NIC has built a solid and extensive Caribbean Network as well as an International network with her main partner brokers, AON, Howden and Meijers. NIC services her clients from offices in Curacao, Aruba, Bonaire and Sint Maarten.
Last year, NIC acquired the shares from AON Holdings Antillen N.V. and by acquiring the AON portfolio, NIC became a full-fledged Insurance broker servicing private and commercial clients within the Dutch-speaking Caribbean, as a partner in the AON global network.
To realize NIC’s ambition of growing its business and expanding its services in the Caribbean while at the same time remaining an independent insurance broker, the Curacao Growth Fund (CGF) and its main investor APC are the partner of choice.
By choosing CGF as its main shareholder, NIC has found the stability and continuity for its staff and client base for the years to come. The Founders of NIC, Bram Boeren and Jan-Hein Braam remain Managing Directors and shareholders in the company and are committed and excited to lead the company for the years to come.
The acquisition will be submitted to the relevant regulators for assessment. Completion of the acquisition will follow after approval from these authorities has been obtained.
“The participation of CGF is fully in line with our growth ambitions in the Caribbean, as we were looking for a solid partner and wanted to stay 100% independent to serve and advice our clients in the best possible way without taking into account the interests of an insurance company”, according to Jan Hein Braam and Bram Boeren, Managing Directors of NIC.
For local investment fund CGF, this is the 8th investment. Principals Erik Baas and Justus are “excited about becoming active in the financial services sector, a sector with strong growth potential. We believe that a partnership between very experienced insurance specialists and a strong financial party will place NIC in an even better position.”
